Making Love
Every third Wednesday of the month, Three Dollar Bill Cinema @ Central Cinema will present an LGBT audience favorite, including big hits from the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, queer classics, and documentaries showing how far we’ve come as a community.
Successful young L.A. doctor, Zach (Michael Ontkean), and his equally successful television-producer wife, Claire (Kate Jackson), find their happily-ever-after life torn asunder when he unexpectedly confronts his long-repressed attraction for other men. The object of Zach’s affection is Bart, a swinging L.A. novelist played by 80s heartthrob Harry Hamlin. When Bart walks into Zach’s office, unfamiliar feelings are awakened and soon Zach is canceling dinners with Claire to spend more time with this attractive and somewhat aloof new friend. As Zach’s absences become more and more frequent, Claire has a growing suspicion that he is having an affair…with another woman. But after being dumped by Bart and feeling alone for the first time in his married life, Zach resolves to tell Claire the truth about himself, a revelation that will change their relationship forever.
This poignant melodrama was the first mainstream gay Hollywood feature film. A classic that must be seen on the big screen.
