Always armed with a colorful dress and an acerbic quip, the flamboyant,
vibrant Mame Dennis (played by the incomparable Rosalind Russell) is an
unconventional socialite from the roaring 20’s. When her brother dies, her
young orphaned nephew Patrick lands on her Beekman Place doorstep in
the midst of a madcap party and it’s love at first sight. Mame battles the
stuffy conservatives in Patrick¹s life and teaches him that ‘Life is a banquet,
and most poor suckers are starving to death!’
