Three Dollar Bill Cinema has a mission: To go where
no LGBT festival has gone before, and to inspire new and unique
queer filmmaking! Each year we challenge individuals from our community
to get in touch with their creative side and become amateur Super8
filmmakers. With limited time, no editing equipment, one roll of
film and an assigned theme, participants must make a movie against
astronomical odds. The results have been hilarious, sexy and out
of this world! As each film is a glimpse into the filmmaker’s
world, how fitting for our ninth festival that we chose the nine
planets as our theme. Participants are randomly assigned one of
the nine planets, and then given a Super8 camera to interpret what
it means to them. How sexy will Venus be? Will Pluto be far out?
And, most intriguingly, what will Uranus look like? Don’t
miss these heavenly bodies of work!
