Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! There—we’re
just too excited to hold that in any longer! The sing-along returns
with one of the best Disney musicals of all time. This 1964 family
classic has delighted all of us with fantasies of singing nannies
flying in to make our world a little more orderly, while offering
little homos everywhere the role model of a take-charge woman with
magical, musical talents. Delight as Burt (Dick Van Dyke) gets ‘served’
by animated penguins resulting in a hilarious dance sequence. Mist
up with Mary (Julie Andrews, before THE SOUND OF MUSIC) over the
sad state of the pigeon lady. Join in the gravity-defying laughter
of Uncle Albert (Ed Wynn) and those adorable tykes, Jane and Michael
Banks. Don’t forget the costume contest: this year’s
sure to bring a host of grubby urchins and tight plaid suits. Hell’s-a-poppin’,
Mary! This event is as queer as it gets!
