REBELS WITH A CAUSE – QUEER YOUTH SHORTS
Little Theatre
Tuesday, October 21
5:00pm

Who says growing up gay/lesbian/bi/transgender is getting any easier? This collection of remarkable shorts made by queer youth highlights some of the issues they face today. Although many of the themes are recognizable as the coming-of-age experiences of every generation, today’s queer youth give things a new spin and a fresh dose of attitude! THROUGH THEIR EYES explores the challenges of growing up in a small community defined by church and family. Reel grrls shout out about beauty, Barbie, and the independent young woman in CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? Another young woman searches for answers in her WANDERING THOUGHTS. A pair of plain brown cowboy boots yearns to become a pair of fierce pumps in FADE TO PINK, and a young lesbian who takes on her school administration to form a gay-straight alliance is A FISH ALMOST EATEN BY A SHARK.
