ALL IN THE FAMILY: SHORTSKALI'S VIBE

Tuesday, October 22
9:15pm
Asian Art Museum

Close your eyes and let your soul speak your heart’s true love. Hard, isn’t it? That’s what Kali finds when she discovers her girlfriend of three years is cheating on her. Suddenly Kali, a social worker/vegetarian/yoga lover, becomes a serial blind dater until one of her dates turns out to have photos of Kali’s ex plastered on her wall. Kali swears off romance and starts looking for friendship, which she finds with her smooth talking new co-worker, Ezra Reese. Unbeknownst to Kali, Ezra has a crush on her, but just as he starts to pique her interest, Kali’s ex re-enters her life. Director Shari Carpenter’s feature film debut is a study in the sexual fluidity of modern relationships, enhanced by spoken word excerpts and an eclectic music score.
