FIRST LOVE & OTHER PAINS
These films examine the phenomenon of first love - the thrill, the fear, the heartache. FIRST LOVE AND OTHER PAINS captures the beginnings of a romance spanning different worlds. Hong Kong student Mark is smitten with his English instructor, Professor Graham, an aging, frustrated British playwright. Their common love of great literature leads both men into a poignant but trying affair. As Graham tries to sabotage their blossoming relationship, Mark counters with solutions and possibilities.
Plus shorts: HE BOP! forces a young man to stop listening to fear and follow his heart with the help of his dead grandmother (Mink Stole). A naive married man learns the bittersweet price of love with the beach-combing MOUNTAIN KING. And the emotions of love gone awry have never been more accurately recollected than in DAVIE STREET BLUES.
