WOMEN ON THE VERGE: EXPERIMENTAL SHORTS
These women on the verge dare to challenge traditional narrative form with work that is bold, beautiful, smart, and sexy. One girl's obsession with rhythm and ribs is realized in BONE WISH, and another contemplates love, memory, and identity in SCAR. THE SHAPE OF THE GAZE, a lush hand-processed film, draws the viewer into the drama of looking and being looked at. NEST OF TENS uses four stories to reveal mundane yet personal methods of control, and the animated ERIKA IN AMERIKA proves that milk is one commodity that is desired by all. UNMAPPING DESIRE attempts to dissolve the self-loathing imposed on East Indian women who love women, and DARLING INTERNATIONAL is a shower of love between two women on the streets of New York City.
